Climate data management and Metos

NPC Agro, the official representative of Pessl Instruments in Azerbaijan, has all the systems needed to properly manage your field. Pessl Instruments is an Austrian company and has been operating in Azerbaijan for about 15 years. There are about 90 Metos climate stations and over 1000 different sensors in our country. Climate plays an important role in planning agricultural activities. Although, in many cases it is possible to change the soil composition indicators, adapting the climate in the open field to planting is largely impossible.

If you have any questions, you can be sure that our service will help you:

When to plant?

When is irrigation needed?

How much water do I need for my planting?

When and how much should pesticide and fertilizer be given?

Is there a risk that the disease or pest is currently spreading in the area?

When will the frost begin?

Our climate information services and stations will help you make the right decisions at the right time. Based on the data you measure in your field, you can make decisions based on information about what steps you can take to ensure the quality and quantity of your products, along with the weather forecast.

Using meteoric products gives you the following opportunities:

Making wise decisions in agriculture

Climate monitoring / 14 day weather forecast for your area

Disease and pest warning

Planting and harvesting times

Measuring soil moisture in real time

Warehouse / storage chamber management (gas, humidity and temperature sensors)

Technical control and determination of work efficiency

iMETOS® iSCOUT Pheromone camera

With the inspiration of helping the farmer to grow his crop in the optimal and most healthy way, Pessl Instruments GmbH, developed an optical high-resolution camera system, together with a computer vision software which is able to recognize insects from the photo.

Optical high-resolution camera system is embedded inside insect trap, to remotely monitor insect pressure at fields. We provide different types of traps, to cover a broad spectrum of insect species. All of the photos and data from computer vision software is displayed online, on a web portal called FieldClimate.

iMETOS iSCOUT® is an insect trap with integrated electronics (camera system, modem, power source with solar panel) and sticky plate. It can be hung wherever in the field needed, due to its low weight. In the field, the device is self-sufficient, as it is powered by a solar panel and a battery.

10 MP camera takes high-resolution pictures of the sticky plate within the iSCOUT® trap. Images are sent via mobile network to the FieldClimate platform where they are analyzed with AI (artificial intelligence) software. The results are then visible on web or mobile devices. As a result, we see the photo with rectangles around the target insect, as well as summarized data of the daily count, targets in total and development of insect population during the season. Control is real-time and the collected data can be used for further analysis.

iMETOS® CropVIEW

The iMETOS CropVIEW®, is a camera system with integrated electronics (camera, modem, power source with solar panel). It can be installed wherever in the field needed. In the field, the device is self-sufficient, as it is powered by a solar panel and a battery.

10 MP camera takes high-resolution pictures of your field, crop or fruit. Images are sent via mobile network to the FieldClimate.com platform where they are analyzed with automatic detection of fruits (for apples only). The results are then visible on web or mobile devices. As a result, we see a photo with recognized fruits (apple only) as well as measurements of fruit diameters (apple only). Control is real-time and the collected data can be used for further analysis.

When installing CropVIEW® station you need to take into consideration the sun position – make sure that your device is not facing directly to the sun, at the time that photos are taken. How many stations will be installed, needs to be decided by the local personnel on farm. It can be one device per growing site, or also more devices per growing site (e.g.: if there are different varieties at the growing site and monitoring of all is wanted).
